Reporting
As discussed in Alberta Education’s document on the Teacher Quality Standards, an effective teacher gathers and uses information about students’ learning needs and progress and reports this information appropriately.
I feel that I have met the descriptors under this section and continue to do so by:
Regularly completing and reviewing detailed Individual Program Plans for each student in my class.
Maintaining checklists and behavioral monitoring forms for each individual student in class.
Transitioning assessment practices to use more performance based assessment tasks in class.
Collaborating with colleagues to continually enhance and develop more effective and appropriate assessments tools and techniques.
Increasing opportunities for students to become more involved in their own assessment using agreed upon individual criteria.
Providing clear and concise feedback to guardians both informally through daily conversation and phone calls and formally through report cards.
