Technology in the Classroom
As discussed in Alberta Education’s document on the Teacher Quality Standards, an effective Teacher applies a variety of technologies to meet students’ learning needs.
I believe that I have met many of the descriptors and continue to do so by:
Using web-based activities projected for whole group instruction.
Integrating computers research activities to reinforce learning and instructions.
Becoming familiar with and using SMART board applications during the delivery of information and the development of skills.
Using web-based programs as an assistive technologies for students to work with to improve understanding and developing skill sets.
Using web-based programs as an assistive technologies to track summative learning of students.
Creating a web-folio to understand design and usage to then teach students to build their own.
Establishing and creating a network with colleagues to generate ideas and communicate with about trends and resources.
