Teacher Framework

As discussed in Alberta Education’s document on the Teacher Quality Standards, an effective teacher has sound pedagogical knowledge, skills and attributes which is based on their ongoing analysis of contextual variables.

I believe that I have met the components of the standards by:

Being a conscientious professional in my interactions with all staff, students and parents.

Continually attempting to increase my understanding of the policies and procedures in my current school division – Parkland School Division #70.

Remaining open minded and flexible in my continual efforts to increase my knowledge of how the school systems work under Parkland School Division at Forest Green, Connection for Learning and Brightbank Academy.

Consistently seeking input from colleagues as I strive to build my repertoire of best practices in early years education.

Actively attempting to increase my extensive knowledge base related to Special Education, therefore allowing me to best serve the students I teach in a residential program.
